Rack attack

Trying to be more steadfast in my approach to interweb picture sharing. Here's a rack i did over the summer. Made of mild steel rod, quite strong. Great if you want a handmade piece for a really reasonable price. Iv'e got it on my townie right now and its been great.

Out of Touch

Damn im lazy when it comes to computers, and doing work on them. Something about it instantly sends me back to stressful 4:00 am adderall fueled term papers from college days. Although i could be making all kinds of shit , but if i don't display my work via the interweb, it can seem like i haven't been accomplishing much, even to myself.
That being said, look for updates.

COARSE X mess kollective fully integrated street warrior

True temper ox platinum tubing, integrated bmx style headtube from solid, and integrated seatmast machined by Bold Precision make this 17 lb build a street warrior! As stiff and light as steel gets, this thing was made to haul ass through NYC traffic.
Thanks to all the companies that provided the integrated pieces for this biuld, and the other builders who walked me through designing and building a frame that was quite a challenge for my lug-loving building style. I have now conquered the fillet braze! and most of all, thanks to Eric of mess kollective for giving me the chance to biuld a bike he designed and had only dreamed of before.
There are a whole lot of other biulders out there with more experience, and faster turn arounds than me, so thank you so much eric, for giving me a chance. Each frame I do comes out better than the last, and gives me more experience and confidence as a builder, and this project exemplifies that. That being said, Who wants one? TAKING ORDERS NOW!

Eric's track frame update

The last month has been crazy busy for Velo Brooklyn/Bushwick Bike Shop, with repairs, builds and getting prepared for our booth that we had at the Bicycle Film Festival NYC street fair the weekend before last. Projects down in the basement in the COARSE laboratory have also been chuggin' along with this custom track biuld for Eric, messenger for the mess kollective.
The picture shows the freshly brazed frame just after the rear triangle was attached and the flux had been soaked off. Threw some parts on to show the geometry. Plenty of filing and sanding left to do. Need to braze in the bridges, also have to cut the seat tube and miter it, then attach the integrated seatmast hardware, a custom machined clamp. Head tube is also integrated, cane creek spec. This little 49 cm beast is gonna be so stiff!! mad custom yo

The summer is here! and we've been crazy busy working at the bike shop, and trying to get my shop better tooled and easier to work in. Also starting to prepare for the Velo Brooklyn/coarse metal booth at thia years bicycle filme festival! Look for updates soon. Lately i've been upping the ante on my design skills by studying cad, and areas of metal fabrication so i can make shit better! Also been making some cheapo racks out of solid rod for all you dirty street loving utilitarian commuter to carry shit on at a low cost, locally made product. $50 raw, $80 powder coated. Ill throw up a picture of a rear commuter rack (40lb suggested weight limit) i just finished brazing up sometime tomorrow.

New Build

COARSE fabrication Build #3

Low pro geometry, but still super comfortable for street mashing. Come take it for a spin while it's on display at Velo Brooklyn, and if you like it make an offer. We can also use it for a platform to discuss the geometry and component changes you'd like to have in your own custom build. I tweaked the bb drop and seat angle to ensure no toe overlap even with the super steep 74.5 degree head tube angle, 38mm track rake fork, and 170mm cranks. After the hours of contemplation, setup, inhaling flux fumes, obsessive filing/sanding and finally piecing this build together late night after being locked out of my apartment, all done...and well worth every minute spent. Actually getting on a bike you designed and built and taking the first few pedal strokes is an incredible feeling. Like a caveman discovering fire. Cyclist self sufficiency fully realized.
Definetly plans to make this a stock COARSE model, with custom options available.
